Fonseca is out

00:05 CET - That's that for another day of the 2026 French Open, but we'll be back with a brand new tracker tomorrow to bring you live coverage of the last quarter-finals. See you then!

23:28 CET - It may have ended in straight sets, but that was one heck of a battle, especially in a final set that lasted for one hour and 22 minutes.

Both were struggling physically, having played plenty of tennis to reach the quarters, and yet they were both able to produce shots of the highest quality at the biggest moments.

Fonseca bows out having become a star with his remarkable win over Novak Djokovic, while Mensik marches on to the first Grand Slam semi-final on the back of one of his best performances.

We'll be seeing these two in the latter stages of majors for years to come.

23:17 CET - Jakub Mensik ends Joao Fonseca's run and moves into the French Open semi-finals!

The Czech is through to the final four after a truly remarkable third set. Fonseca served for it when leading 5-4, but was broken after failing to convert a set point, and Mensik then had six match points on Fonseca's serve at 6-5 but was thwarted by some stunning tennis from the Brazilian.

However, he bounced back in the tiebreak, serving excellently and producing some glorious returns to seal a 6-4, 6-3, 7-6 victory.

21:57 CET - Mensik goes two sets up!

He's like a wall at the other side of the net, returning everything and returning well, with the Czech talent painting the lines with remarkable poise and precision.

19-year-olds Fonseca and Jodar have stolen the spotlight in Paris, but Mensik is a massive talent himself, and boy is he showing it tonight.

If he wants to stay in this tournament, Fonseca will now have to come back from two sets down against Djokovic.

21:19 CET - Mensik has taken the lead, edging the first set 6-4 in 47 minutes.

There hasn't been much to choose between the two youngsters, with Mensik getting two of only three break points that were forced in the set while it was level at 2-2, and taking the second of them was enough for him to clinch the opener.

He's handled Fonseca's power excellently, having the movement and anticipation to get most of what the Brazilian's thrown at him back over the net.

19:47 CET - We're less than 30 minutes away from the night session getting underway at Roland Garros, as two of the sport's rising stars, 20-year-old Jakub Mensik and 19-year-old Joao Fonseca, battle it out for a place in the French Open semi-finals, where second seed Alexander Zverev awaits the winner.

Both Mensik and Fonseca are contesting their maiden Grand Slam quarter-final, with the pair enjoying hugely impressive breakout runs in the French capital over the past 10 days.

Tonight marks only their second-ever meeting, with the first coming at the Next Gen Finals in 2024, which Fonseca won in five sets.

Follow point-by-point coverage from 20:15 CET.

17:15 CET - The heavy favourite for the men's title, Alexander Zverev, is through to the semi-finals after the second seed battled through a tight opening set to eventually overwhelm talented young Spaniard Rafael Jodar in straight sets, 7-6(3), 6-1, 6-3.

Zverev, a three-time former Grand Slam finalist, is through to the last four at Roland Garros for the fifth time in six years, as he moves a step closer to an elusive major crown.

The German saved five of six break points against Jodar while firing down 35 winners, and will face either Joao Fonseca or Jakub Mensik in the semi-finals on Friday.

As for Jodar, defeat takes nothing away from his remarkable rise in recent months, with a quarter-final run a superb showing in just his second Grand Slam main draw.

Check out all the match stats here.

16:48 CET - Alexander Zverev looks to be cruising to the last four, with the German leading rising star Rafael Jodar 7-6(3), 6-1 after nearly two hours on Court Philippe-Chatrier.

Follow the third set here.

14:42 CET - Our attention now turns to the men's side of the draw, and first up is one of the most tantalising match-ups of the tournament, with highest remaining seed Alexander Zverev taking on teenage sensation Rafael Jodar.

Former runner-up Zverev is the favourite to win this year's title and finally become a Grand Slam champion, and he's handled the pressure that comes with that tag well, dropping just one set on his way to the last eight. However, 19-year-old Jodar is a massive talent, and could be the German's biggest test yet.

Whether he can cause Zverev problems depends largely on how much is left in the legs after two five-set battles in the previous two rounds.

Follow every point of the clash here.

14:27 CET - Marta Kostyuk's incredible run goes on!

The Madrid Open champion has beaten Elina Svitolina 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 to claim her 17th win in a row and move into the semi-finals of a Grand Slam for the first time in her career.

Kostyuk really upped her game again in the decider, playing with real power and real bravery, as shown by her 17 winners. Svitolina just couldn't live with it.

Next up for the victor is a clash with Andreeva, who she claimed a straight-sets win over in the Madrid final last month. Given that result and the tennis she's playing, Kostyuk has to be considered the favourite.

13:54 CET - Svitolina has struck back, raising her level to claim the second set 6-2 and take things to a decider.

This clash, between two of the world's most in-form players, is living up to expectations.

13:23 CET - Marta Kostyuk is halfway to her 17th straight clay-court win and a maiden Grand Slam semi-final after taking the opening set 6-3 against compatriot Elina Svitolina.

12:40 CET - Today's second women's quarter-final is underway, and it's an all-Ukrainian affair between seventh seed Elina Svitolina and the in-form Marta Kostyuk.

Follow point-by-point coverage right here!

12:07 CET - We have our first French Open semi-finalist, with Russian star Mirra Andreeva racing to an emphatic 6-0, 6-3 victory over Romania's Sorana Cirstea in 57 minutes to move into the last four of Roland Garros for the second time in three years.

It was an absolutely flawless performance from the 19-year-old, who converted all six of her break-point opportunities while firing down 18 winners to Cirstea's four.

Andreeva has now won 20 of her last 23 matches, and she will be confident of reaching a maiden Grand Slam final when she faces either Elina Svitolina or Marta Kostyuk on Thursday.

Check out all the match stats here.

11:32 CET - Eighth seed Mirra Andreeva has looked in imperious form so far, winning 25 of 34 points against Sorana Cirstea to take the opening set 6-0 in just 22 minutes. What a statement from the teenager.

11:09 CET - Our first quarter-final clash of the day is now underway on Court Philippe-Chatrier, with Mirra Andreeva locking horns with Sorana Cirstea for a place in the last four of the women's tournament.

Follow point-by-point coverage right here!

09:00 CET - Good morning and welcome to our coverage of today’s tennis, as the men’s and women’s quarter-finals get underway in the French capital!

First up on Court Philippe-Chatrier this morning, women's eighth seed and former French Open semi-finalist Mirra Andreeva takes on the resurgent Sorana Cirstea, who is enjoying a remarkable final year on Tour.

That clash is followed by an all-Ukrainian affair, as Rome champion Elina Svitolina faces compatriot Marta Kostyuk, with the 15th seed and Madrid champion on a stunning 16-match winning run on the surface.

Over on the men's side of the tournament, the highest remaining seed and favourite for the title, Alexander Zverev, continues his long-awaited pursuit of a maiden Grand Slam title when he comes up against Spanish sensation Rafael Jodar.

Finally, in the night session, there's a blockbuster match-up between two of tennis' great talents, as Brazil's Joao Fonseca takes on Czech Jakub Mensik in what promises to be a thriller under the Parisian lights.

Read an in-depth preview of today's quarter-final matches here.
