French Open LIVE: Arnaldi into semi-finals as Berrettini retires, Sabalenka dumped out

22:54 CET - That shall be all from our coverage of another incredible day of action in Paris! We will be back tomorrow for the women's semi-finals at Roland Garros!

22:34 CET - That is heartbreaking for Matteo Berrettini. More injury issues for the big Italian have forced him to retire from his clash with countryman Matteo Arnaldi, ending the match when trailing 5-7, 2-5.

After a tight first set, Berrettini seemed to suffer an issue with his hip. He tried to continue following a medical timeout, but he simply could not. Such a shame for a player who has suffered a lot of physical problems in the last few years.

For Arnaldi, his incredible run continues. Ranked 104th in the world, he had never been past the fourth round of a Slam before. He is now into the semi-finals, spending around a staggering 19 hours and 40 minutes on court.

He will take on Flavio Cobolli in the last four, meaning an Italian is guaranteed to reach the final in Paris. If you were told that before the tournament, you'd have bet your life savings on that being Jannik Sinner!

19:34 CET - Flavio Cobolli is into a maiden Grand Slam semi-final, after a mighty impressive 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3 over fourth seed Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Cobolli dropped the first set in incredibly windy conditions, but after that, the roof was closed to make life easier for the players. From that moment on, the Italian showcased his clay-court credentials, proving why he is such a fine player on the dirt as he surged to victory.

His movement was spectacular throughout, and once the roof closed, his forehand was utterly explosive. He played the big points with so much confidence, which ultimately proved to be the difference in four sets which were all tight.

He is now the favourite from this half to make the final, with either Matteo Berrettini or Matteo Arnaldi awaiting in the semi-finals. That match is up next.

One thing is for sure: there is going to be an Italian in the Roland Garros final!

15:45 CET - Aryna Sabalenka has been sensationally dumped out of Roland Garros by Diana Shnaider after an implosion of seismic proportions from the world number one!

The shocks keep on coming at this tournament, and this is as big as any of them! Sabalenka was a set and 4-1 up, but her game totally fell to pieces as the wind started to play a part - a lot like last year's final - as Shnaider won 3-6, 7-5, 6-0.

But credit has to go to Shnaider, who was immense and dealt with the conditions superbly. Her forehand was on fire, and she played some really brave and commanding tennis to reel off 12 of the last 13 games. She also made just 27 unforced errors, compared to Sabalenka's 57, illustrating how well she handled the situation and wind.

Shnaider will now face Polish qualifier Maja Chwalinska in her first Grand Slam semi-final, with a huge opportunity for both players. Incredibly, we will now see a new Grand Slam champion on both the men's and women's side of the draw.

15:13 CET - Wow, would you believe it! Aryna Sabalenka and Diana Shnaider are heading into a decider after the world number one squandered a 4-1 lead and failed to serve for the match in the second set!

The wind is a massive factor at the moment, and Shnaider is dealing with the blustery conditions far better than her opponent, taking a set off Sabalenka for the first time this tournament. Is there another upset on the cards after Sabalenka looked so in control for the majority of the match?

Follow the final set with Flashscore!

12:05 CET - Maja Chwalinska's incredible fairytale run in Paris keeps rolling on, with the Polish qualifier claiming a 7-5, 6-3 win over Anna Kalinskaya, sealing her spot in a maiden Grand Slam semi-final.

Prior to this tournament, Chwalinska had only won a single match at a major. Now she is two victories away from lifting the trophy in Paris. She has won eight matches in a row, including during qualifying, and has only dropped a single set. A stunning storyline in what has been a stunning Grand Slam.

Chwalinska's variety has really suited the clay, and Kalinskaya was unable to deal with her changes of pace and depth. That is evident in her 47 unforced errors, compared to Chwalinska's 15.

She will now face the winner of the upcoming quarter-final, which sees world number one Aryna Sabalenka take on Diana Shnaider.

11:05 CET - The wait is over! Anna Kalinskaya is first up today in the women's quarter-finals as she takes on qualifier Maja Chwalinska for a place at the 2026 Roland Garros semi-finals.

08:00 CET - Good morning and welcome to day two of the quarter-finals at Roland Garros! After plenty of surprise outcomes, drama and world-class tennis on display in the first half of the quarter-finals, today promises to be more of the same.

Getting this Wednesday underway is a clash between Anna Kalinskaya, who is appearing in just her second Grand Slam quarter-final and Maja Chwalinska, who has been the surprise package of the tournament. Chwalinska went through qualifying just to make the first round before securing impressive wins en route to the quarter-final against the likes of Qinwen Zheng and Maria Sakkari.

Her opponent, Kalinskaya, came through her toughest match so far in the last-16 as the Russian battled to a three-set win against Anastasia Potapova. Neither player, though, has had a top 10 opponent in a draw that has opened up perfectly for both women to do something surely unthinkable when the tournament began. That sets up this quarter-final perfectly, as the reward of victory is an unlikely semi-final showdown.

The winner of that match will likely face world number one and massive Roland Garros favourite Aryna Sabalenka in the semi-final, unless Diana Shnaider can continue her great journey at this year's tournament by producing the shock of 2026 Roland Garros. An epic round of 16 win against Madison Keys would have taken a lot of energy out of Shnaider, but it might also have given her the belief that this might be her time to shine.

Follow the women's quarter-finals with Flashscore.
